EVAPCO Water Saver™ is a makeup-water pretreatment system for evaporative cooling equipment. It uses capacitive deionization to reduce dissolved-ion concentration and conductivity before the water enters a cooling tower, evaporative condenser or closed-circuit cooler.
Water passes through cylinders containing oppositely charged supercapacitors that capture dissolved ions other than silica. A typical 50% ion reduction can approximately double operating cycles of concentration without increasing scale or corrosion potential. The system achieves a 75–90% water recovery rate while reducing blowdown and treatment chemicals discharged to drain.
