EVAPCO ICE-PAK Thermal Energy Storage Units

Compact factory-built thermal energy storage units with 370 to 1,000 ton-hours of latent capacity.

Rating: 5.0 / 5

EVAPCO ICE-PAK® units are factory-built thermal energy storage systems incorporating patented Extra-Pak® elliptical-tube ice coils. The tube geometry improves packing efficiency and delivers high storage capacity within a compact tank footprint.

During off-peak periods, a glycol chiller circulates low-temperature glycol through the coils and freezes the water in the tank. During peak periods, the refrigeration system may be shut down while the stored ice cools glycol or water through a heat exchanger. The industrial-grade package includes a corrosion-resistant stainless-steel tank, galvanized supports, high-density insulation and electronic controls for ice charge and liquid-level monitoring.

  • Latent storage capacity from 370 to 1,000 ton-hours.
  • Compact use of site space.
  • Reduced peak electrical demand.
  • Factory-built packaged construction.
  • Corrosion-resistant stainless-steel tank.
  • High-density insulation without thermal bridges.
  • Extra-Pak® elliptical-tube coils.
